Impact in Detail

Health

Over 2,000 individuals were reached through three free medical camps in 2018. The Palliative Care Clinic at Chuka County Referral Hospital has served 118 patients. More than 1,424 mothers received Mama Packs across five sub-counties in November 2021. Menstrual hygiene and dignity packs have been distributed across seven schools.

Education

More than 1,100 young people have been mentored across Tharaka and Chuka Igambang'ombe constituencies. In 2019, seven KCSE candidates in Tharaka achieved C+ and above, in a region where no candidate had reached that threshold in the preceding three years. Mentorship programmes have been delivered in both school-based and community settings.

Social Inclusion

World Disability Day has been commemorated in 2018 and 2019, with visits to Kairuni Special School and Chiakariga Primary School respectively. Assistive devices, food, and blankets have been distributed to persons with disabilities. Advocacy for children with special needs is integrated across all programme areas.
