Strengthening Neonatal Care: Preterm Baby Incubators Received for Tharaka Nithi County

<p>First Lady of Tharaka Nithi County H.E. Margaret Muthomi received preterm baby incubators from the Ushiriki Wema Initiative led by Mrs. Tessie Shangatti Mudavadi, on behalf of the Department of Public Health and Medical Services.</p><p>These incubators will strengthen neonatal care by enhancing the capacity of our health facilities to provide specialized care and treatment for preterm babies. They will also contribute to improving survival outcomes for newborns in the region.</p><p>Mrs. Mudavadi commended Tharaka Nithi for investing in health system strengthening, committing to quality healthcare, promoting mother and child wellbeing, and achieving a neonatal mortality rate of 12 per 1,000 live births, which is much lower than the national average of 22 per 1,000 live births.</p>
